Nowadays, there is an app for everything. It is no surprise to find many apps for nutrition tracking. We love ways to make it easy for everyone to stay on track and lose for good!!
Many studies have been done on the success of those who have lost weight and kept it off. At the top of that list of successful weight loss is keeping a food diary. The apps below can help make that task easy and even fun!
Here are apps that we found to help you easily manage your calories and get you one step closer to reaching your goals!
MyFitnessPal has one of the largest food databases available. The iOS and Android app capabilities help you stay on top of your weight goals. Whether you’re making something at home or eating out. It also supports a number of popular (and many not-so-popular and smaller) restaurant menus.
SparkPeople is a robust nutrition and activity tracking service. This widely used app lets you track your meals, add food items you’ve cooked yourself or search for restaurant items. Furthermore, it will break those items down into nutrition information so you can see how many carbs you’re eating, how much sugar, and whether you’re getting your recommended daily allowance of vitamins and minerals. Since it also tracks exercise and activity, you can keep tabs on everything in one place. SparkPeople sports mobile apps for iOS and Android to help you track yourself on the go, and a barcode scanner for packaged food.
The primary goal of Food Planner is to make it quick and easy to use, while also including more advanced features you’ll come to appreciate once you become more familiar with the app. Keep an integrated meal plan, grocery list, inventory and recipe collection that can sync to the cloud across multiple platforms! Available for iOS, Android, Amazon and online!
The Food Guide Slide is an easy, simplified and fun way to track your daily nutrition goals! Simply touch the photo tiles representing your daily food group goals as they are eaten and they move to the right side of the screen. The app itself includes 60 food images or you can customize it with your own images that you take of your meals. It allows for up to eight members to use. It is a fun way to teach kids to eat a healthy balanced diet.
Stupid Simple Macros by Venn Interactive, is by far one of the easiest apps we have tried to track your macronutrients. It uses food icons for logging your food and allows you to create custom foods and/or meals. It includes a bar scanner to scan packages easily and the food bank conserves calories for special events. Counting macros is a must-do to reach your fitness goals and this app makes tracking these macros super easy. You set your own macro levels and gives you an average of how many calories and carbs you are hitting as you use it .
My husband and I have competed in several competitions from 2012 from 2015. Every competition brought more information on how to be better and stronger both mentally and physically.
I reached 200 pounds after having my children. Several things have led me down my path of wanting to be healthier not only for myself but for my family as well. Countless fitness dvds, a gym membership, leading a weight management class at my church and a personal trainer telling me I had good symmetry have brought me here.
I have learned many things on my fitness journey, but the one thing that I hear over and over no matter what size they are, is the self-talk that many women tell themselves regarding the way they see themselves. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have the tools and wisdom of the people around me to help women of all shapes and dynamics to help them on their journey.
