Athletic tape is a specific form of Kinesiological tape. More specifically it is a thin elastic tape that is made of cotton on one side and stretches with an acrylic adhesive on the other.

WHAT IS ATHLETIC TAPE
Athletic Tape is a natural-hybrid product and consists of 97% cotton, 3% nylon and uses no drugs. The adhesive is a hypo-allergenic acrylic based adhesive and contains no latex. Based on its materials it is safe for most people to use even since it has no latex. This tape can benefit a wide variety of musculoskeletal and sports injuries, improve sports performance and even help with inflammatory conditions.
What Makes RockTape Different?
“We introduced a bias into the weave of the fabric so it stretches in one direction and not the other. This creates a bio-mechanical lifting mechanism that lifts the skin away from the soft tissue underneath, which allows more blood to move into an injured area to accelerate healing and recovery.”
ATHLETIC TAPE DOES MORE THAN JUST LOOK COOL
Taping with athletic tape or other types of Kinesiological is not just for show even though we love the fancy colors and patterns. The tape can help with support for weak or injured areas and also help rehabilitate that specific area.
It can also help with lymphatic drainage because once it is taped on it microscopically lifts the skin for drainage. By doing so it helps with inflammation in that area.
