When fall comes around I tend to stock my pantry full of pumpkin puree. The only problem is my lack of recipes to use my beloved pumpkin!
Pumpkin is delicious and packed full of nutrients, but constantly adding it to protein shakes or smoothie bowls can get a bit redundant. That’s why I opted to use it in a (n)ice cream instead and even added some Nutra Bio Whey Protein in Pumpkin Pie flavor for some added nutrition. It’s so easy and yummy, you will love to make this as much as I do!
Protein Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream
Keep in mind, this is not your traditional ice cream with all the sugar and milk in it, this is a healthier version of ice cream. The texture will be different, it’s quite a bit softer than regular ice cream. Once you make it, you can put it in the freezer for a couple of hours to solidify a bit more if you prefer.
¼ cup of milk (I used unsweetened almond milk)
4 TBSP honey
½ frozen banana
1 scoop protein powder, Nutra Bio Pumpkin Pie from HerSUPPZ
¼ cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
¼ tsp pumpkin pie spice
3 cubes of ice
- Place everything into a blender in the order it is listed.
- Blend and pulse until all the ingredients are mixed well.
- Serve and enjoy!
*Sandwich this delicious decadent treat between two Lenny & Larry Snickerdoodle protein cookies!
Pumpkin is good for the heart, filled with fiber, potassium and vitamin C. An added bonus is that it is low in calories. A delicious recipe such as this ice cream will satisfy your sweet tooth without hurting your weight loss and fitness goals.

Faith is a southern girl, born and raised in North Carolina. She enjoys spending time with her husband and fur-baby.
Faith is living a healthy lifestyle and her ultimate passion is to inspire others to do the same.
She decided to change the way she was living 4 years ago, but she wasn’t expecting to actually fall in love with it!
Now she enjoys experimenting with different kinds of fitness and challenging her body to new heights whether it be pilates, plyometric training, or weight training, and she aims to inspire others to realize the strength within themselves as well.
Faith’s favorite product for pre-workout is the Optimum Nutrition Essential Amino Energy line. Her favorite flavor so far has been the peach lemonade, but next on her list is Mocha Cappuccino, yum! The use of natural caffeine sources is a real win for this product and it mixes easily, so there is no grainy texture.
For protein sources, she enjoys Oh Yeah! One Bars for a quick and filling snack on-the-go, of which she has many favorite flavors! Or Gaspari Precision Protein to mix up a shake. Faith’s favorite recipe uses 1 scoop of the Cinnamon Cereal Crunch flavor, mixed with 1/2 a banana, 1/4 a cup of vanilla Greek yogurt, 1 tsp cinnamon, 8 ounces of unsweetened almond milk, and 1 cup of ice.
