Halloween treats can be very haunting to the waistline but they don’t have to be! If you know just how many treats you can have it will keep you on track and those treats won’t play tricks on you!

We are giving you the amount of candy-chocolaty-goodness that will help you feel like you can join in on the fun this Halloween. 

We also want to share with you some tricks that will help slay away those pesky temptations!





Treat: Hershey Minis

210 calories

Trick: Go dark. Milk chocolate has nearly twice the amount of sugar that dark chocolate has. Dark chocolate also has four times more iron and fiber than the milkier kind.



Treat: Reese’s Miniatures 3 cups

Trick: Don’t eat out of the bag. Set your allowed amount on the counter, put the bag away. If you do not have it staring right back at you, taunting you it will not be as hard to stop.


Treat: M&Ms Snack Size

Trick: Slow down. Really taste each piece of candy as it sits in your mouth. Force yourself to let the piece of candy sit in your mouth for a couple seconds before you start chewing. You will be surprised at how satisfying a smaller amount can be.

I reached 200 pounds after having my children and several things have led me down my path of wanting to be healthier and better for myself and for my family; countless fitness dvds, a gym membership, leading a weight management class at my church and a personal trainer telling me I had good symmetry.

My husband and I have competed in several competitions from 2012 from 2015.  Every competition brought more information on how to be better and stronger both mentally and physically.

I have learned many things on my fitness journey, but the one thing that I hear over and over no matter what size they are, is the self-talk that many women tell themselves regarding the way they see themselves. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have the tools and wisdom of the people around me to help women of all shapes and dynamics to help them on their journey.
