It would be a lie if I said I had extra time to exercise. Because in reality, I don’t really have time with three kids (& no nanny), multiple businesses (& no personal assistant), a house (& no house cleaner), and since I am on a roll…I don’t have a chef either! I really could make a ton of excuses. But instead, I MAKE TIME!
I have found the best way for me to make time is to schedule my workouts into my weekly planner. I teach three classes at our gyms each week. I also lift weights with a trainer twice a week. And, now with my half marathon training…I added five extra workouts in per week. Maybe you think I am crazy (I feel like it sometimes). Maybe you are judging me right now and thinking how could she spend so much time away from her family? Or maybe you are thinking, I wish I had that much time to work out!
I get it. I judge myself. I have a hard time taking “me time”. A lot of women do. You feel guilty. You need to get other things done. Many things seem more important than a workout. Don’t allow those to be your excuse! Get up early or stay up late. Try working out on your lunch hour. Schedule a run while the kids are at school. Being a Mom should be your reason, not your excuse. Plan your workouts and don’t feel bad about it. Your family will benefit and so will you when you #findyourstrength.

I write blogs about my accomplishments, my failures, my doubts, my goals, and my inspiration. But, it’s really not about me. It’s about real life and the challenges we each face and continuing to find your strength along the way. I want to inspire people, but I also want them to see the real me. I am just a normal person trying to do the best I can with what I was given. This is my journey and you have yours. Nobody is perfect…all the time. We all suck at things. -Mary Sheckler
