I have been married to my wonderful husband since 2000, we have two incredible busy boys and a beautiful, busy girl. My oldest son loves track, soccer and watching the Brewers and Packers. My middle son loves to cook and my youngest daughter’s favorite sport is softball and has just started pitching for her team! Just like any mom, I love watching my children excel whether it be in sports or academics or anything they truly enjoy. It is my favorite part.
Besides, being a mom and wife, I am also a Bodybuilder. My husband and I have competed in several competitions since 2012 and every competition brings more information on how to be better and stronger both mentally and physically. My husband is very good at competing. He won his pro card in Men’s Physique and consistently takes first in Men’s Bodybuilding as well. He makes it look easy!
I on the other hand, I struggled. but as I struggled, I learned.
I have learned many things on my fitness journey. I have learned that the motivation I use today to eat healthy and get my butt to the gym may not work tomorrow. I have learned that this is hard. Just getting to your goal is an uphill climb but then you have to continue to practice consistency. Practice…practice…practice! I was not blessed with a high metabolism. I feel like if I even look at a piece of bread I have gained at least 2 lbs! What I have been blessed with are choices, and it takes …practice…practice…practice! I am blessed with choices everyday.
Another thing that I hear over and over no matter what size we are, is the self-talk that many women (including myself) tell themselves regarding the way they see themselves. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have the tools and wisdom of the people around me to help women of all shapes and dynamics to help them #FINDYOURSTRENGTH
