By Curtis Dean

A fine link has been found between neuroscience and music. Scientists are continuously evolving and expanding to understand the different benefits it can provide. A good song can affect brain function by enhancing the mood, emotion, learning, memory, attention, and neuroplasticity. If you have ever thought of taking music lessons you just may be on to something!

A different kind of therapy.

We all know that a great melody can effectively uplift your soul and soothe your mind but not everyone is aware of it being used in therapy. The satisfying melodies and rhythms can help in improving your physical and psychological health. Starting from the drum beats to the different streaming services available, music has become an important part of life. This type of therapy is said to be a safe, non-invasive, inexpensive intervention which can lead to better performance when working out, cooking or even doing math!

How music affects mood

When you’re listening to a great arrangement substances like melatonin and norepinephrine is released in the brain which is known to cause a pleasure like feeling. Research has shown that It helps in decreasing the stress that is caused due to certain hormonal production. Music makes you want to move. It doesn’t matter how tired you are. Your music can easily get you to lift more, run more, jump higher or get you on a dance floor.

Play that soothing music.

From easing anxiety and depression to reducing stress, music can help. Lack of sleep can not only be detrimental to your mental health but may show up in every other path of your life as well. By improving your sleeping pattern, it has magic powers that can make you feel positive and confident.

Music can elevate your mood.

According to several analyses, people who listen to music can change their mood and find self-awareness. People who participated in the study claimed that when they were listening to music, they were able to escape from reality and/or pain. No matter what hurdles you are going through in your life, it can help you eliminate all that negativity and provide you with the power to work things out.

Music helps you relax.

Music has the power of reducing stress. It creates a unique bridge between emotions and will help you to fight the stress and manage it properly. It will not only allow you to go into a relaxing zone, but it will also calm down your body and mind.

Music can help people cope with physical pain.

Adding music during illness, can drastically improve your health as well. It has been seen that when patients suffering from cancer are provided with music therapy during their radiotherapy or chemotherapy it can help ease anxiety. It can help to reduce pain perception and may reduce dependency on painkillers.

The final note.

When you see your teenager with their earbuds in all the time they may just be on to something. Music creates a lot of chemical reactions in the body. To de-stress or get lost sometimes you just need a good song. Next time you are feeling any type of feeling happy or sad, treat yourself to a good beat and you will find peace.
