Felicia is a HerSUPPZ Exclusive Brand Ambassador.  We see her greatness and know you will quickly see why we chose her to inspire and motivate YOU.  

She is powerful and smart and we wanted to share with you how she finds her strength.

Felicia is a fiery-fit-mom and elite nationally-qualified USAPL powerlifter from Nashville.   She is a busy working mom who balances the demands of work and parenting a toddler while pursuing her fitness goals.



I have always loved working out and playing sports. I grew up as an athlete but never considered myself a super fit person. When I met my husband in college, he was a personal trainer and focused a lot on bodybuilding. Naturally, we started training together and he taught me so much about weightlifting and inspired me to lift heavier and heavier.

The real breakthrough came in 2013, when I took a nutrition class and really changed my eating habits. I realized many things I thought were “healthy” were not optimal for my health. So I started tracking my macros and eating to improve my body composition. I lost 15lbs and became extremely passionate about nutrition.

In 2014, my son was born and all throughout my pregnancy I trained hard and continued lifting. This helped me bounce back very quickly and get even stronger. A few months after getting back to lifting, I realized I was stronger than ever. My husband encouraged me to start training for a powerlifting competition.   I started focusing on getting to the optimal body weight and improving all of my lifts (squat, bench, deadlift).

Throughout this process I successfully got down to the 52kg (114lb) weight class and set state records in my first competition.

I’m most proud of my 300lb deadlift at my first meet. I continued to compete and focus on getting stronger. After my most recent meet in May 2017, I decided to take a long off-season to improve overall athleticism, fitness and build some muscle. This includes working on Olympic Lifting and CrossFit training. After just three months of CrossFit under my belt, I competed in my first RX competition and placed 5th in my division. I am excited to take the next 6 months and dedicate myself to getting better at the sport of CrossFit. The ultimate goal is to become all around stronger and a better athlete to continue to compete at the elite level in powerlifting for many years to come. For women, your peak years typically come after age 30 because it takes time to build that muscle, so I am looking forward to seeing how my athletic career continues.



Everyday, you’re competing against yesterday’s you.


There is no “quick, easy fix”.

Achieving your goals, whether it be losing weight, getting stronger, improving body composition – all of these take time. Lots of time. I mean years. Sure, a low-carb crash diet will make you lose weight, but for long term success you have to put in the hard work and then you’ll see sustainable results.

Set short term and long term goals for yourself that go beyond appearance. Aim to improve your 1 rep squat max or finally get that pull-up.

You’ll feel a million times better about yourself then on your best “skinny” day.



You can’t out train a bad diet. It’s literally impossible.

Good nutrition habits take discipline, consistency and maturity. If it was easy, more people would be in great shape.

Also, you’re not the only one who struggles. We all fall off the wagon at some point or another. What matters is how you keep going!


Optimum Nutrition’s Amino Energy & FitMiss BCAAs.

I start my morning with BCAAS on the way to work (after coffee of course) then I have another scoop for my intra-workout. It gives me the extra kick I need every day.

Amino Energy is my go-to preworkout, especially for longer training sessions. It fuels me with steady focus and stamina for intense WODs.

Also, I can’t live without my Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein in Vanilla and PB Fit (or Bell Plantation PB2). Every night I make a mini mug cake before bed of yummy, peanut buttery, protein goodness.


I get up every day at 4am. My favorite part of the day.  it’s my own quiet time to focus.

I drink my coffee and read my bible then wake my husband up at 4:30 or 5. We’ll eat breakfast and reflect on the day and then it’s full speed ahead.

I’ll usually go do some fasted cardio or get in a quick WOD. By 6am I’m getting ready for work and by 6:15 I’m heading out the door with my 2 year old son. I drop him off at daycare and head to work for a full day of meetings and busy projects. I work in a large, fast-paced company, and my days can be crazy. But I always make sure I have prepared my meals ahead of time so my nutrition is always on point to fuel my body and brain for the day.

After work, I pick up my son and head to the gym for training.

I usually spend an hour or an hour and a half of intense lifting and CrossFit training. Luckily, my gym is an awesome family environment so my son loves his friends there. By 6pm we’re all back home eating a nutritious dinner and preparing for the next day.

When my son goes to bed, my husband and I usually catch up on work or binge our latest Netfilx obsession while chatting and working on mobility. Before bed we try to get in a ROMWOD or at least a few minutes on the foam roller. By 10pm we’re usually asleep and ready to start it all over again.



Front squats. They engage your whole body from core to quads. Plus, your form has to be perfect to execute.



That one’s easy. The barbell.

During my rest days I literally miss the barbell. All of my workouts revolve around primary barbell lifts and olympic lifts.




I keep a few pairs of gym shoes with me at all times. Whether I need to sneak out at lunch and walk in the park or stop by the gym and get my training session in, I always have several different types of shoes.



Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes or anything by the Black Keys.

After several months of chronic dieting in 2016, I became mentally burnt out and physically depleted. My body weight dropped too low and my lifts suffered in competition. I slowly decided to put back on weight and muscle to get stronger and be at my optimal size. It was difficult to adjust my goals after being obsessed with the number on the scale, but I began focusing on improving my strength and being comfortable in my own skin.

Slowly, I began to improve my relationship with food and eat according to my goals. After that course correction, I felt more balanced and didn’t let my fitness goals get in the way of my life and relationships.


Felicia is a fiery fit mom and elite nationally-qualified USAPL powerlifter from Nashville.  As a busy working mom, she balances the demands of work and parenting a toddler while perusing her fitness goals.

Felicia started strength training in 2012 and after having a baby in 2014, she’s lost over 15lbs and gotten over 200lbs stronger. Now she is a national level powerlifter in the 52kg weight class.

As a 4’10” 114lb woman, she wants to show that strong women come in all shapes and sizes. In her transformation from average gym goer to competitive athlete, she loves to share what she’s learned about strength training, nutrition and work-life balance with other women trying to be the best version of themselves.
