Finding Strength in Friends | MARY’S BLOG

Running ClubI am STILL training for that half marathon that I signed up for! #bucketlist. I am down to the
final four weeks of training. I didn’t mention this before, but six of my friends are also running the Disney Princess Half Marathon, along with 20,000 other runners!

When I decided to start running, I joined a running group Facebook page that one of my friends had started. She is a genius! It’s such a great way to connect with your friends and keep each other motivated. Everyone posts about how their training (or lack of training) is going. We share quotes, cute running clothes or accessories, and running plans. I look at this page for support and motivation. If I see they are running and I am not, I get motivated. By nature, I am a competitor.

You are more likely to stick with a fitness goal when you have someone meeting you at the gym or for a run. It keeps you accountable. It’s motivating to share your goals with others. We need to encourage other women and support them on their fitness journey.

#findyourstrength with friends

I write blogs about my accomplishments, my failures, my doubts, my goals, and my inspiration. But, it’s really not about me. It’s about real life and the challenges we each face and continuing to find your strength along the way. I want to inspire people, but I also want them to see the real me. I am just a normal person trying to do the best I can with what I was given. This is my journey and you have yours.  Nobody is perfect…all the time. We all suck at things. -Mary Sheckler
