Who inspires you?
It may be a professional athlete, a friend or your significant other. It could be someone that has persevered through so much and came out stronger. They are the people that help you make the decision to better yourself. My fitness and healthy inspiration comes from my children who watch my actions and make sure I get my workouts in. My inspiration comes from the 80 year olds that workout beside me in the mornings. My inspiration comes from fellow moms. My inspiration comes from people who never stop bettering themselves.
My inspiration comes from many places and often when I am not expecting it. I have received messages from friends and sometimes from people I don’t even know. Sometimes they say “because of you, I decided I want to become a better version of myself. I want to be healthier. I want to join the gym. I want to start running. You inspired me.” Not only do these comments make me smile, but also they encourage me to keep going. They seem to find me at moments when I need some inspiration myself.
As women we have a wonderful opportunity to encourage each other and support healthy lifestyles. We are faced with so many pressures in this life and so often compare ourselves to each other. I don’t eat perfect, I don’t look perfect and I surely don’t have the perfect body. I am on my own journey and have different obstacles than others. When we stop comparing ourselves and take the time to take better care of ourselves, we can make positive changes. We are better able to take on this life and be better moms, spouses and friends.
You may be someone’s inspiration and not even know. Somehow, I can inspire others and you can too! If someone inspires you, tell them! And don’t tell them because you think it’s just going to flatter them, but it may encourage them to keep going.
And, do yourself a favor…surround yourself with inspiring beings.
“You inspire me” are some of the kindest words I have been told. They actually encourage me and are some great reminders why I do what I do. I would be lying if I said I jumped out of bed every morning to workout. Sometimes I would rather stay home with my family instead of teaching a class at the gym. When I know that someone is counting on me for inspiration…then it’s easier.
You can be someone’s inspiration, not by what you accomplish but what you inspire them to do.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I write blogs about my accomplishments, my failures, my doubts, my goals, and my inspiration. But, it’s really not about me. It’s about real life and the challenges we each face and continuing to find your strength along the way. I want to inspire people, but I also want them to see the real me. I am just a normal person trying to do the best I can with what I was given. This is my journey and you have yours. Nobody is perfect…all the time. We all suck at things. -Mary Sheckler
