Whether you pick them yourself, grab them up at the farmers market or buy them from the grocery store, this is the time for all sorts of delicious fresh berries!
Strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries are powerful superfoods. They’re rich in nutrients, antioxidants and phytochemicals which may help prevent and even in some cases, reverse the effects of aging, cardiovascular disease, arthritis, diabetes, high blood pressure and certain types of cancer.
Keep a big bowl of them cleaned and ready to eat in your fridge for an easy, healthy treat or if you want an awesome easy frozen treat wash them and throw them right in the freezer!
Use them to top your yogurt, cereal, oatmeal…their really are no limits!!
The Berry Protein Cookie recipe below even adds protein and will soon become your favorite cookie any time of year!!
4 egg whites
1/2 cup oatmeal
1 cup berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries or a combo!)
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp stevia
2 scoops of APS ISOMORPH, Vanilla flavor
Combine egg whites, APS ISOMORPH 28 and oatmeal well. Stir in berries. Drop spoonfuls of mixture on a sprayed baking sheet.
Bake at 425 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
Makes apx 10 cookies.
