A new pair of workout capris, a cool twisty-back tank, the latest, ‘has-everything’ treadmill… the fitness world is full of spending opportunities.  It is not hard to indulge in the trendy fitness craze and it is super tempting when a product claims it will make you fit and healthy for good!   In the long-term being healthy should actually save you money on hospital bills, by growing your own food and saving on gas …not  demolishing your income.

So, we invite you to take the following strides and save huge on your next shopping inspiration:

Gather the Loyalty Cards of your Favorite Brands and Stores and SAVE

If you have one or a couple of favorite brands, make sure that you are always getting the most out of them. One of the smartest approaches to do that is by signing up for their loyalty cards.

In doing so, you will get exclusive coupons and deals.   When you are at Dicks Sporting Goods, Hibbett or browsing on your favorite supplement website take the time to sign up at the checkout.  It usually only takes a few minutes and will always be worth the time.

Usually you will get a percentage off of your sale for signing up right then and there!

Explore the Deal Sites

Money-saving websites that offer lucrative deals on just about everything are definitely worth looking into. Whether you are purchasing fitness equipment or a sofa make sure you are receiving the latest sales and deals by signing up for their newsletters.  You will always be updated on every possible exciting discount from all the premium brands.  On most sites your email notifications can be modified to be sent only weekly, monthly or even longer.

Check Out the Price Comparison Sites to save money

Before making a purchase, it is smart to make use of price comparison sites. This is the best way to know whether a price that you are planning to pay for a specific product is worth adding to your cart or not.

Don’t Be Impulsive

We understand how hard it is when you see those cute cut-out leggings you have been seeing all the girls on Instagram wear or the infomercial claiming this set of containers will stop you from overeating but slow down.

If you are at the store itself , when it comes to apparel always try it on! You may think something looks adorable on the hanger and can’t believe how awful the fit is once you get it on.  If you are at home you have the luxury of doing some Ebay or Amazon research to find a more affordable way of getting those colorful containers or 90’s workout dvd’s.

We aren’t saying do not give into temptation, we are just saying take the time to make sure you won’t be sorry spending the money on something you will never use.  It is much easier to put something back on the rack when you are at the store than to take the time to go back to the store and waste more time and gas.

Don’t Go for Any Unnecessary Special Offers

Discounts will save you money but only if you were planning on buying it anyway.  Special offers can act as a magnet for you to spend more so don’t feel bad for not taking advantage of it. In the end, you probably won’t use it anyway and it took advantage of you!

Explore the Reviews

Whether it is fitness wear, the latest camera gadget or health supplement, explore if others liked the product or not.  It is super easy, just type in the product name + review in Google’s search bar, you will get to see the related testimonials and make an informed decision.  It can definitely keep you at bay from spending on something that others found useless.  Also, it can actually be quite satisfying knowing you did not make the same mistake or on the other hand, be super excited about a well thought-out purchase.

We want you to save your hard-earned money.  Try even just one of these money saving tips and you could make an immediate change in your bank account.

I reached 200 pounds after having my children and several things have led me down my path of wanting to be healthier and better for myself and for my family; countless fitness DVDs, a gym membership, leading a weight management class at my church, and a personal trainer telling me I had good symmetry.
My husband and I have competed in several competitions from 2012 to 2015. Every competition brought more information on how to be better and stronger both mentally and physically.
I have learned many things on my fitness journey, but the one thing that I hear over and over no matter what size they are is the self-talk that many women tell themselves regarding the way they see themselves. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have the tools and wisdom of the people around me to help women of all shapes and dynamics to help them on their journey.
